The online event held on October 31, 2024, by HAU brought together 13 participants, including 8 external academics from the UK, Spain, Italy, and Poland. The session was divided into three parts: an introduction to the LATEST project with a focus on the WP3 (PR7) and WP4 (PR8 and PR9) workgroups, presented by Prof. Paolo Ceccon (UNIUD); an overview of PR6 by Dr. Mitch Crook (HAU); and an engaging discussion led by Dr. Paula Misiewicz (HAU).

During the discussion, participants shared their experiences with active learning. While many used these methods occasionally, they pointed out challenges such as the extra time required for preparation and delivery. However, they highlighted the benefits, including increased student engagement and improved skill development. Looking forward, there was a strong interest in incorporating artificial intelligence and gamification to make learning more interactive and motivating.

Overall, the event was well-received, providing a valuable space for sharing ideas and exploring innovative teaching methods, despite the challenges faced. Participants left with new insights and excitement about integrating AI and gamification into education.
