Training number 2
This three-day training, organized by the University of Udine as part of the LATEST project, aimed to strengthen teachers’ skills in active learning methods and the integration of digital technologies in agrotechnology education to support the transition to sustainable agriculture.
The first day began with project meetings led by Marco Medici and Giorgio Alberti, who presented the project’s objectives and the European framework for common diplomas. In the afternoon, presentations focused on the educational framework of UniUD and national initiatives in digital education, followed by an interactive workshop on pedagogical simulations and video analysis. The day ended with a social dinner, encouraging participant exchanges.
The second day was dedicated to practical case studies. In the morning, field demonstrations showcased crop monitoring with drones and the use of robots in vineyards. In the afternoon, participants took part in interactive workshops on processing drone data and developing innovative teaching labs. The day concluded with a farewell dinner in a friendly atmosphere.
The final day focused on environmental labs and artificial intelligence. Participants explored the use of environmental sensors in teaching and an AI-based tool for weed recognition. The training concluded with a discussion on key takeaways, followed by a closing lunch.
This training aimed to encourage the adoption of active learning methods and critical thinking, leveraging innovative technologies like e-learning, AI, and interactive tools. The trained educators will be responsible for disseminating these practices in their respective institutions.
